Oak Orchard Health opens Medina location

The official Grand Opening of the Oak Orchard Health Center in Medina took place on Tuesday, June 21. The center will be providing primary care services to people of all ages including infants. The office has been updated and there is a kid-friendly exam room with an oceanic mural on the wall. Also, the health center is more accessible with widened doorways and an improved ramp. One thing that has not changed is the commitment to the community.

Medina Mayor, Mike Sidari, attended the Grand Opening and acknowledged that “it’s tough to get providers to come to the community and Medina is fortunate to have Oak Orchard as a healthcare provider locally.”

At the event, Oak Orchard CEO, Mary Ann Pettibon, introduced Michelle Okonieczny, a family nurse practitioner, who will lead the local medical team. She has worked for Oak Orchard for the past six years out of the Albion and Lyndonville offices. She lives in the Medina area and often walks to work. She said, “I am honored to be given this opportunity to serve the community I’ve lived in for ten years. Orleans County has the nicest people, and I am happy to be caring for my friends and neighbors for years to come.”

The staff includes Theresa Gurney (MA) and Elizabeth “Betsy” Phinney who both worked at the previous primary care office. The new office manager is Alicia Fletcher, and Shentelle Shaffer, LPN, rounds out the team.
