CNB announces gift to YMCA Sands Family Branch

Canandaigua National Bank & Trust (CNB) is supporting the new YMCA of Greater Rochester Sands Family Branch in Canandaigua with a $350,000 gift. It will be used to build the Child Watch and Adventure Center “CNB Midway: Adventure Center and Child Watch.”

“We see this gift as an investment in our community’s future. The Y has grown over time, just like CNB has, to meet the needs and the values of this community and this support will forever be part of that,” said Frank Hamlin III, President & CEO, Canandaigua National Bank & Trust.

Both spaces are central to serving area families. Child Watch will be dedicated to younger children and feature soft play elements to stimulate learning and play. The Adventure Center will be for older kids and include a two-story climbing structure with slides and obstacles. Both areas will pay homage to a local icon – Roseland Park.

“As a parent raising a young family, I realize how vital high-quality childcare and programs are for the kids in the community. CNB is proud to support the new, state-of-the-art YMCA,” said Vince Yacuzzo, Chief Financial Officer, Canandaigua National Bank & Trust, and YMCA member.

Canandaigua National Bank & Trust’s gift will help the YMCA meet its $6 million fundraising goal. “To have a local, community organization like Canandaigua National Bank & Trust join us and invest in our mission, speaks volumes about our shared commitment to families in our community,” said Jason Gottfried, Executive Director, Sands Family YMCA.

The Sands Family Branch is scheduled to open October 2.
