Annual Scarecrow Fest returns to Kendall

The Kendall Community Scarecrow Festival will be at the Kendall Gazebo Park on Saturday, October 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Besides the usual festival events – a scavenger hunt, scarecrow building, a hayride, a pumpkin seed spitting contest, the Farmers Market, a variety of games, food and music – this year will introduce temporary tattoos, a petting zoo and a 5K Run and Walk. The 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the festival site.
The real stars of the festival will be in attendance too – the scarecrows. This year’s theme is “A Favorite Nursery Rhyme.” The scarecrows will be displayed at various sites throughout the town and can be viewed with a leisurely walk or from the free hayride.
Many activities are free thanks to donations from community members, businesses and organizations. Festival-goers can help with small donations while attending the event.
