Brockport Rotary hosts Oratorical Contest

Bport Rotary oratoricalThe Rotary Club participated in the Rotary District 7120 oratorical contest for a second year.

The contestants who placed first and second, Christopher Carlson and Michael Howlett, respectively, go on to the nearest regional contest. The top twelve from the regionals will continue to the finals, this year to be held March 22 at St. John Fisher College.  Thousands of dollars in scholarships are available to the top winners in that contest from the sponsoring colleges (including The College at Brockport). The Brockport High School juniors wrote their own speeches on Ethics and the Rotary 4 – Way Test which they also related to their own lives.
