Brockport Rotary Supports the Local Toy Shelf

Bport Rotary toy donationsBrockport Rotary President Elect Brad Mitchell (left) presented a check for $500 to Toy Shelf leaders, Charlene Veltz (center) and Ruth Ann Tryka at a recent Club meeting.

The distribution of toys will be held on Saturday and Sunday, December 20 and 21 in the Brockport High School Cafeteria. The Toy Shelf provides new toys, books, and stuffed animals for children in the Brockport School District up to age 17. Some refurbished bicycles will also be available.

Last year the toy shelf provided gifts to 250 Brockport CSD families. Parents must sign up for an appointment to “shop” at the toy shelf after Thanksgiving.

Donations of new, unwrapped toys, books and stuffed animals are welcome. Look for bins at many locations around town including: First Niagara Bank in the Village of Brockport, State Farm Insurance (Main Street Office), The Sweden Senior Center, Brockport Wegmans, Oak Orchard Community Health Center. Monetary donations may be mailed to Charlene Veltz, 12 Glendale Rd., Brockport, NY 14420.
