Lakeview Community Church announces this year’s “August Challenge”

Since 2009, the month of August has been an important time at Lakeview Community Church, 30 Long Pond Road, Rochester. It is time for its “August Challenge.”

The “August Challenge” is a charity program that collects food for the Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf. In previous years 130 boxes of cereal, 225 cans of peaches, 240 cans of soup and last year 758 pounds of peanut butter were delivered. Each year Lakeview Community Church makes a significant contribution to the Food Shelf.

This year’s challenge is to collect 550 cans of tuna fish. Tuna fish may be brought to Lakeview Community Church on any of the five Sundays in August at 10 a.m., or on Saturday, August 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Any and all contributions are appreciated. For information, contact Lakeview Community Church.
