They marked the beginning of the season of Lent on Ash Wednesday, February 10, with the usual services at noon and 7 p.m. But new this year, Reverend Jimmie Sue added “Ashes to Go” on Buffalo Road from 4  to 5:30 p.m.  She and parishioner Tom Cleveland braved the cold weather to offer ashes to those who pulled over.

Reverend Jimmie Sue had these comments about beginning her journey with the Church of the Epiphany: “I am deeply honored to be here with the parish as we listen for where God is inviting us to serve in the wider community, being an inclusive community seeking to nurture our relationship with Christ, and welcoming all those who are seeking Christ and a community that cares deeply for one another and its neighbors.”

Reverend Jimmie Sue Deppe relocated from Michigan, where she was an Associate at St. Michael’s in Grosse Pointe Woods.  She received her Masters of Divinity at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her family will move to Rochester to join her after the school year ends.
