Local watercolor artists on display at Parma Public Library
Hilton residents and members of the Suburban Rochester Art Group Lois DeWitt and Anne McCune have combined their talents to bring the new light and gentle hues of springtime to a show at the Parma Public Library Gallery for the remainder of April.
Lois, a long time gardener, has turned her passion for growing flowers into a passion for painting them. Her “Red Zinnas” in their stoneware pot and her golden yellow “Hibiscus at the Lamberton Conservatory” speak to her success.
Anne, too, draws her inspiration from the natural elements surrounding her. She works primarily as a watercolorist, but recently has experimented with collage, incorporating different rice papers into her compositions. Her jewel toned “Pansy Profusion” and her “Durand Revisited” are fine examples of her collage work.
This is the 56th in a series of exhibitions hosted by the Parma Public Library featuring local artists and photographers. For more information or to inquire about personal work, call Rosalind Lipomi, Adult Services Librarian at 392-8350 or visit www.parmapubliclibrary.org
