Family and friends joined Diane Ellis, Interim Pastor of the UCC Church in Churchville, as she was ordained into the UCC denomination on Sunday, February 26. The ordination was held at the Community Christian Church in Chili.
Officials from the denomination along with ministers from a wide area participated in the hour-long service. A combined choir presented several resounding anthems, a soloist provided a specially requested hymn, and the congregation sang hymns in uplifting harmony. A reception was held following the service.
The community is invited to visit the Churchville UCC and offer congratulations to The Reverend Diane Ellis. She has served as Interim Pastor at UCC since January 2016 and will continue her ministry at UCC until the church installs a permanent minister.
