The Churchville Lions Club is not able to host its annual Country Fair this year because of the pandemic. However, on Saturday, August 22, the Churchville Fire Department and the Churchville Lions will join forces to put on a community-wide chicken barbecue. The barbecue will be held at 24 Washington Street from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., drive-thru only. The profits will go towards the donation of dinners for front-line workers at Unity Hospital. The dinners will be delivered by firetruck.
Pre-sale tickets are $10 and can be purchased from any Churchville Fire Department or Lions Club member. Tickets can also be purchased at the Churchville Village or Riga Town offices. If any tickets remain, they can be purchased on the day of the event.
The day will be capped off by a fireworks display at the fairgrounds at dusk, sponsored by the Town of Riga.
