Greece Chamber announces 34th Annual Community Awards

The Greece Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced award recipients to be recognized at its 34th Annual Community Awards Gala. The premier event will be held Thursday, April 25, at the Rochester Marriott Airport Hotel, 1890 West Ridge Road. A 6 p.m. reception precedes the dinner and awards program which begins at 7 p.m.

Each year, the Greece Regional Chamber of Commerce recognizes exceptional individuals, business people, and organizations whose business and volunteer activities demonstrate significant contributions to the Greece community. Nominations are solicited and received throughout the community and reviewed by the Chamber’s Community Award Selection Committee.

The committee has selected the following outstanding individuals, organizations and projects for recognition in 2019: Arts & Culture Award – Greece Performing Arts Society and The Greece Historical Society (joint award); Building Award for New Construction – Greece OBGYN; Building Award for Renovation – T. C. Hooligans; Business Person of the Year – David and Michael Perotto (joint award); Economic Engine Award – Eastman Business Park; First Responder of the Year – Chief Steven Mills, Ridge Road Fire District; Girlie Goodwin Citizen of the Year – Celia McIntosh, Rochester Regional Coalition Against Human Trafficking; History Award – Maureen Whalen; Thomas E. Schommer Spirit of the Chamber Award – Thomas and Sharon Fein; William E. Selke Senior Citizen of the Year – John D. Foy; Young Professional of the Year – Heather Henderson.

13WHAM News Anchor Doug Emblidge will be the Master of Ceremonies. “The Annual Community Awards Gala is one of our favorite events,” said Greece Regional Chamber President and CEO Sarah Lentini. “It gives us great pleasure to highlight the outstanding individuals and organizations that make our community so exceptional. We are looking forward to celebrating and thanking our community’s best and brightest on April 25th.”

Tickets are available for purchase online at www.greecechamber.org through Friday, April 17, and are $50 each for Greece Regional Chamber members and $60 each for the general public. Reservations are required.
