The Opera Guild of Rochester presents their annual Beat the Blahs Haskell Rosenberg Memorial Series in January. Video presentations of acclaimed opera productions will be featured each Sunday in January from 1 to 5 p.m. at Temple B’rith Kodesh, 2131 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester. Each screening is preceded by a brief pre-show talk about the production.
This year’s series features Giordano’s Andrea Chenier on January 5 with presenter John Bouman, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale on January 12 with presenter Carol Crocca, Massenet’s Werther on January 19 with presenter Peter Dundas, and Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana and Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci on January 26 with presenter Art Axelrod.
Meet fellow opera lovers and enjoy free refreshments at intermission. A suggested donation for all four viewings is $32 for Guild donors ($36 for non-donors). Suggested donations for individual operas are $9 for donors and $10 for non-donors.
