On Thursday, January 30, former Riga resident Elaine Koch celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends at St. John’s Home in Rochester. Thirty family members and friends celebrated in the Sunrise Room with a buffet supper and cake. New York State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer introduced a legislative resolution to the NYS Senate (which was read to her) recognizing Elaine’s milestone. Before the birthday cake, cards were opened and inside many of them were scratch-offs (one of Elaine’s favorite things to do). After all the cards were scratched her winnings totaled exactly $100.
