The Willie Bee Foundation at McColley’s, Spencerport NY

It’s not every day that you get the opportunity to meet people that will have a profound impact on your life. Twelve year old Ethan and his family’s faith, love and positivity have carried them through the last 2 1/2 years since his brain cancer diagnosis.

Ethan recently won a cleat design contest through the Green Bay Packers. Star running back Aaron Jones wore his award winning cleats in Sunday’s game. Ethan said that he wanted to show through his design that his cancer journey has had so many colorful moments. The colors show how he’s come from darkness to light.

Local Spencerport business owner Matt Brooks jumped at the opportunity to give back to the Haley family. He invited Ethan and his family to dine and view the game at his Irish pub McColleys. When asked he said it was a honor to host Ethan and his family.

With a cool Cleat design we knew we needed a cool cake to go with it. With two days notice Spencerport baker and owner of Cakes by Karen worked around the clock to make a replica cleat cake for Ethan and his family to enjoy.

It’s amazing to see what can happen when a community comes together and supports one another. Sunday’s game was a much needed reprieve for the Haley’s. It gave them an opportunity to spend quality time together and celebrate their sons winning design on national TV.
