OFC Creations welcomes theatre arts instructor

OFC Creations Theatre Center recently expanded by welcoming a third new full-time employee, Alexandria Ireijo. Ireijo will be joining the team starting March 22 as OFC’s new full-time Theatre Arts Instructor.

OFC Creations Theatre Center is located in Brighton at 3450 Winton Place, and offers classes in acting, singing, dance, as well as opportunities for children of all ages to be on stage. Formed in 2005, OFC has been housed at numerous theater venues across Rochester before opening the new performing arts center in July 2020.

Originally from Oahu, Hawaii, Ireijo has a Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Theatre from Nazareth College and has worked with some of the most well-known Musical Theatre professionals: Bob Cline, Bob Moss, Brett Smock, Jeff Whiting, and more. Apart from theatre, Alex has worked in childcare and education with children ranging from six weeks to 18 years old.

In her new position, Ireijo will be choreographing several spring productions at OFC, including Disney’s Descendants, SpongeBob The Musical, Little Shop of Horrors, as well as directing Wizard’s Theatre Performing Arts Class, A Year with Frog and Toad, and co-instructing the weekly Dance Workshop Series with Frankie Paparone. Ireijo will be developing new programs while teaching private lessons in acting and dance, all leading up to her involvement with several OFC summer camps, including Cinderella, Seussical Jr., Beauty and the Beast Jr., and Tinker Bell.

Ireijo will be working alongside Eric Vaughn Johnson, Executive Director of OFC Creations, Hunter Ekberg, Operations Manager, and countless contracted teaching artists who share their talents at OFC.

Students looking to perform in the coming months can join OFC Creations’ spring drama programs and summer camps. OFC recently announced the 2021 lineup for ROC Summer Theatre Experience, the largest theater summer camp program in Upstate New York. From July 5 through August 28, 2021, campers ages four to 18 will participate in 16 musical theater productions across two venues with 25 directors. Most camps run two weeks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with options for before-care and after-care hours. Each camp concludes with performances open to family, friends, and the public.

Details on all of OFC Creations upcoming programs for kids, teens, and adults can be found at www.OFCCreations.com or by calling 667-0954.
