Knights of Columbus hold charity golf tournament benefitting The Margaret Home
The Finger Lakes Chapter of the Knights of Columbus held a charity golf tournament to raise funds for The Margaret Home. The Finger Lakes Chapter includes 40 councils located throughout the 12 counties of the Roman Catholic diocese of Rochester. Bob Rejewski of the Spencerport council chaired the event, which was held at Pinewood Country Club. During the tournament, Chris O’Donnell scored a hole in one on the 150-yard seventh hole.
The Margaret Home is a residential program that revives hope for mothers who maintain a limited or broken support network and who often struggle with the often-invisible wounds of trauma. Dedicated to serving women through all stages of pregnancy and early motherhood, they provide healing and unconditional love and caring in a comfortable home and caring communal environment that nurtures an empowered spirit and a healthy lifestyle.
Each woman who enters Margaret Home is provided guidance with life skills and parenting; tools to realize her educational and professional goals; an environment that promotes a healthy lifestyle; support in the exploration of her own spirituality; and structure and the expectation of accountability.
The Knights were able to present a check for $4,500 to Paula Belemjian, Executive Director and founder of Margaret Home. Paula said that the money will be very helpful in supporting the home and their programs. Margaret Home is totally dependent on donations for support.
Bob Rejewski said, “It was a great tournament and we are very grateful for all the support and help to raise these funds to help out these women in reestablishing themselves as a viable part of our community and putting their lives back together again.”
