“Bells in Space!”

Concert Explores the Sound of the Cosmos
The Erie Canal Ringers invite the community to experience “Bells in Space,” a free concert inspired by the wonder of the universe, on Saturday, April 11, at 4 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 14 State Street, Brockport.
Humans’ fascination with space and exploration goes back to the beginning of history. The concert will reflect our collective sense of awe in a Star Wars medley by John Williams, “Celestial Charm,” and “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” performed on a bell tree. Audience members will also hear a new arrangement of “Semper Supra,” the official theme of the United States Space Force. Poetry and popular songs round out the program, with lines by Walt Whitman and “Mr. Spaceman” by The Byrds.
All are welcome to hear The Erie Canal Ringers, including both The Red Door Ringers and The Heavy Metal Ringers, joined by St. Luke’s Bells. The audience will enjoy ringing as well as spoken and sung elements performed by actors Carmella Trinchera, Douglas Collier, and Timothy J. Johnson, with guest singers and production by Jess Moss.
Admission is free. Donations will be accepted for the Brockport Food Shelf. This concert is made possible by the Brockport Arts Grant of the Rochester Community Foundation.
