Pal-Chemy: Clarinet and Percussion Duets

It will be an evening of innovative musical pairings on Monday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m. in Tower Fine Arts Center Room 120, as SUNY Brockport’s Music Studies Program presents Pal-Chemy: Clarinet and Percussion Duets.
Inspired by the idea of transformation, the program plays on the meaning of alchemy—traditionally defined as a speculative philosophy that base metals can be turned into gold. Pal-chemy reimagines that concept: the real philosophy that friends can turn music into gold.
Featuring Scott Horsington (clarinet) and Natalie Sarrazin (marimba, vibes), the concert highlights 21st century music through this unique instrumental pairing. Using world and contemporary rhythms, captivating textures and melodies, and friendship and interplay, the duo brings a vibrant and collaborative energy to the stage.
The evening will also include a special trio performance featuring Melissa Dimarco (flute) on a scorching version of “Burn 3” by Nathan Daughtry.
Admission is $5 at the door or free with a Spring 2026 Music Studies Concert Pass, which can be purchased at FineArtsTix.brockport.edu.
This event is open to the public. Music enthusiasts, students, and community members are encouraged to attend.
