Hilton-Parma Recreation (HP Rec), in collaboration with Hilton High School, Sources of Strength, Hilton Council of Churches, Friends of Hilton-Parma Parks and Recreation Inc., and Monroe County, is presenting Northwest Cares Day, a dynamic community event focused on promoting mental health awareness, wellness, and connection.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., beginning at the Village Community Center, and will bring together residents of all ages for a day of meaningful activities and celebration.
At the heart of the event is the Sources of Strength 5K Color Run, a vibrant and uplifting experience designed to encourage positive mental health, physical activity, and community unity. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to take part. Check in at 9 a.m. at the Community Center. The race will begin at 10 a.m. with the route following the Old Hojack Trail to Hilton High School and back. The cost is $25.
During and after the race, attendees can enjoy a wide range of free activities and resources, including over 20 local vendors, live music and entertainment, food trucks, kids’ games and family-friendly activities, therapy dogs, a free mobile mammography unit, and much more.
The colorful nature of the 5K run symbolizes positivity and hope, bringing together local organizations, schools, and families to shine a light on mental health in an engaging and meaningful way.
Community members are encouraged to attend, participate, and take advantage of the many resources available throughout the day.
