At the Spencerport Depot & Canal Museum
The Spencerport Depot & Canal Museum is offering an Arch Merrill book club this season with meetings at the Depot at 6 p.m. on the last Wednesday of each month. The program is open to anyone interested in local history who likes to swap stories with like-minded people.
Arch Merrill was an author and journalist who wrote extensively for the local newspapers, primarily about local history. He published more than 1,500 stories in his lifetime, many of which were published in dozens of books he produced.
The Depot has a large supply of his books and invites interested readers to stop by and pick one up. Read the book, then come to a book club session prepared to share at least one interesting thing you learned from it.
The Depot is open on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
