Kiwanis of Greece Fishing Derby

The 30th Annual Kiwanis of Greece Fishing Derby will be held on Sunday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Homesteads for Hope Community Farm, 2185 Manitou Road. This fun and friendly event is open to all ages and abilities and welcomes families, friends, and community members for a morning of fishing, learning, and time outdoors.
Participants will register as teams of up to five people. Teams can be made up of family members, friends, or caregivers fishing together. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participation is free, but space is limited to 50 teams, so be sure to register early by scanning the QR code or by emailing Heather at greecenykiwanis@gmail.com. Registration ends July 10.
Each team will receive worms for bait, a fishing pole to borrow (or bring your own if you prefer), drinks and snacks, and an event T-shirt for the team’s lead registrant. Throughout the derby, volunteers will be on hand to teach the basics of fishing, share tips, and help beginners learn this wonderful outdoor sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. Prizes will be awarded for the most fish caught, the longest fish, and the heaviest fish.
Homesteads for Hope is a community farm dedicated to serving individuals with autism and other disabilities, creating a place where everyone belongs. This event celebrates that mission of inclusion, welcoming participants of all abilities to enjoy the outdoors together.
