As alumni of The Hilton Crimson Cadets High School Marching Band, Mark Rayome, Class of 1978 (Drumline), and Marilee Ann (Van Vleck) Rayome, Class of 1981 (Majorette), returned to Independence Hall in Philadelphia to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday. Both marched with the Crimson Cadets in the Philadelphia Bicentennial Parade back in 1976, under the direction of the late Mr. David Smalley. They even donned their band jackets for this special return trip. “Quite the accomplishment for two crazy kids from Monroe County to participate in these two auspicious occasions in one lifetime,” Mark said. “And for those of you who were with us that day (in 1976), it was just as blazingly hot and humid this visit, too!”
