The Board of Directors of the Spencerport Depot & Canal Museum and the Village of Spencerport will dedicate a new bench in honor of Doreen Castano on Saturday, September 12, at 11 a.m. at the museum.
Doreen served as Director of the Depot for many years and was well known throughout the Spencerport community. She was a youth services librarian at the Ogden Farmers’ Library in the 1990s, and active in Girl Scouts and at St. John’s Catholic Church. Doreen’s contributions to the Depot and the community at large were immeasurable, and her passing earlier this year left a big hole in many hearts.
The community is invited to attend on September 12 as Depot Board President Ted Rauber and Spencerport Mayor Gary Penders dedicate Doreen’s bench.
