The Sweden Farmers Museum invites the public to explore local history during a free tour of historic Beach Ridge Cemetery on Sunday, September 13, at 4 p.m.
Part of Lakeview Cemetery and located off Lake Road South in Sweden, Beach Ridge Cemetery is one of the area’s oldest burial grounds, dating to the 1820s. Set atop rolling terrain with distant views of Lake Ontario, the cemetery serves as the final resting place of many of Sweden’s early farming settlers.
The tour will begin at the Sweden Farmers Museum, 4988 Lake Road South, Brockport. Visitors will have an opportunity to learn about the people, stories, and history that shaped the local community. The museum and barn will also be open for guests.
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.
