Byron-Bergen Central School District rolls into the 2026-27 school year with new Transportation Director Aimee Louk leading the fleet. In this position, Louk is responsible for maintaining the high level of professionalism demonstrated by the entire transportation staff and ensuring safe transport of all students. She comes to Byron-Bergen with over 15 years of experience, most recently at Ontario Bus Co. and Victor Central Schools.
“Aimee Louk is quickly becoming a major asset to our District,” said Byron-Bergen Superintendent Pat McGee. “She is uncompromising on student safety, and her impressive credentials make it possible to maintain driver and aid certifications without sending staff to offsite training facilities.”
Louk is a 19A Certified Examiner and School Bus Driving Instructor (SBDI). As such, she is able to perform the training and testing necessary for drivers and monitors to remain in compliance with New York State standards, on-site. She began her career in school transportation in 2010 as a bus monitor and then became a driver.
“I started driving a school bus because I love children,” said Louk. “It’s a must in this profession. I am most looking forward to meeting the kids in our district.”
Outside of work, Louk is a Harley-Davidson and gourmet food enthusiast and proud mother of one grown son, Austin. Her first day at Byron-Bergen was August 10, 2026.
