The Town of Ogden and Ogden Farmers’ Library are teaming up again this fall to support neighbors in need through a Fall Food Drive benefiting the Spencerport Area Ecumenical Food Shelf.
From September 28 through October 30, residents are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items at Ogden Town Hall or the Ogden Farmers’ Library during regular business hours.
“Last year’s food drive was a tremendous success thanks to the generosity of our residents, who stepped up and helped completely restock the shelves for local families in need,” said Ogden Town Supervisor Mike Zale. “We’re excited to keep that momentum going this year as we head into the season of giving. This is a great opportunity for our community to once again come together, support our neighbors, and make a meaningful difference for local families.”
The Spencerport Area Ecumenical Food Shelf provides food and other essential items to local individuals and families in need. Requested donations include canned vegetables and fruit, tuna and canned meats, boxed potatoes, rice, pasta, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter and jelly, coffee, cocoa, baking mixes, cookies, and crackers. The Food Shelf also accepts personal care and household items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, deodorant, toilet paper, tissues, soap, and dish detergent.
Every donation, big or small, can make a difference for a neighbor in need. Residents are encouraged to help fill the collection bins and support this important community resource.
