Historical Marker at North Greece Cemetery Unveiled

On November 4, 2019, Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich was joined by Fourth Ward Councilwoman Diana Christodaro, Greece Historian Keith Suhr, Legislator Brian Marianetti, and one of Councilwoman Christodaro’s constituents for an official unveiling ceremony of a historical marker at North Greece Cemetery.

The historical marker was installed in North Greece Cemetery in remembrance of Private Jonathan Wilkinson who was a Revolutionary War Veteran and served with Colonel Baldwin’s Regiment of Artificers as a carpenter during the conflict. Private Wilkinson enlisted on February 16, 1779 and was discharged in 1781. He passed away on January 20th, 1835. Private Wilkinson is one of about 100 Revolutionary War Veterans buried in Monroe County. We are honored to denote his service at North Greece Cemetery, 38 Peck Road, in the Town of Greece.
