Lakeview Garden Club to Host Presentation on Adaptive Gardening

Lakeview Garden Club will host a presentation on adaptive gardening on Tuesday, October 14, at 7 p.m. at Lakeview Community Church, 30 Long Pond Road, Rochester.

Adaptive gardening focuses on modifying the environment, tools, and techniques to ensure gardening remains accessible and enjoyable regardless of age, mobility, strength, or disability. This approach emphasizes comfort, safety, and independence while helping gardeners create and maintain beautiful outdoor spaces.

Guest speaker Duane Pancoast brings a background in landscape architecture and extensive experience working with arborists and landscapers both locally and nationwide. He also authors the semi-monthly blog, The Geriatric Gardener, which has been described as a valuable resource for senior gardeners. Copies of The Geriatric Gardener will be available for purchase at the event.

All are invited to learn more about this inclusive approach to gardening. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation as time permits.
