Chili Parks and Recreation Master Plan subject of March 23 meeting

The Town of Chili will host a community meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 to discuss updates to the Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The meeting will be held at the Chili Community Center, 4400 Buffalo Road, and will be organized in an open-house format with a number of interactive displays. Community members of all ages are invited to drop in anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., free pizza to the first 150 participating people.

The Town of Chili is currently updating the existing Parks and Recreation Master Plan that was prepared in 2007, according to Michael Curley, Director of Parks and Recreation, for the town. The update will provide an important tool for the Town to advance its vision of an evolving parks and recreation system that best serves the needs of a growing and changing community. The meeting will address current and future needs for recreational services, parks, athletic fields, recreational facilities, and active transportation amenities.

Project planners will be on hand to discuss the project. edr, the consulting firm working with the town to update the plan, is interested in receiving feedback from local residents on their priorities and preferences regarding parks and recreation in the Town of Chili.
