BISCO honors Past President George Dahl

George Dahl (right) is joined by BISCO President Greg Lund. George Dahl, who served 3.5 terms as BISCO’s president, was honored recently at an Open House. Greg Lund, current president who will retain the title of Chair of the Festival Committee, lauded Dahl for his contributions to the many projects BISCO has completed within the community. Dahl, a talented carpenter, remodeler and leader, chaired many of the earlier constructions such as the Barry and Clark Street park playgrounds.

Most recently, he was responsible for the 2011 Duck Derby raceway that meandered down the hill at the Sweden-Clarkson Recreation Center. Because of rain the race was postponed so few saw the most interesting duck race of all. Dahl resigned from the presidency because of personal and business reasons but will try to help as much as possible with this year’s 19th Annual Brockport Arts Festival to be held on Main Street, August 10-11.

Because of Dahl’s resignation from the Board, BISCO is looking for at least one new board member. The board meets monthly at 5 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month. Individuals from the representing various group or organization and/or simply people who have skills, talents and interest to contribute to the board are very welcome. Please call the festival number 395-0837 if you’d like to discuss what being a board member entails.
