Armed Forces Day Luncheon May 18

The Armed Forces Day Committee and the Monroe County Veterans Organizations will sponsor the 17th Annual Armed Forces Day Luncheon on Saturday, May 18. The luncheon will be held at the Diplomat Party House, 1956 Lyell Avenue, Gates.

This year’s luncheon will honor all branches of the Armed Forces. The Honorary Chairman for this year’s luncheon is New York State Senator Joseph Robach. The guest speaker is Air Force Brigadier General Kevin Bradley, the former commander of the 174th Fighter Wing and Hancock Field Air National Guard Base and a veteran of the 1991 Gulf War and the Iraq War. He is currently serving as Assistant Adjutant General, New York Air National Guard. Special guests include senior representatives from the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard.

Doors open at 10:30 a.m. with displays from various veteran and military organizations in and around the luncheon site for viewing before and after the luncheon.

The luncheon begins at noon, followed by guest speakers.

Tickets are $25 per person. ($12 children under 12) and $250 for a table of eight. For reservations call (800) 845-2412; seating is limited. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be used to support the Veterans Outreach Center Inc. and Honor Flight. Reservation deadline is May 4.

The 198th Division U.S. Army Reserve Band will provide music.
