Brockport Rotary BBQ & Music Fest provides fun for attendees

Rotarian Rob Blair created and has acted as the BBQ and Music Fest promoter since its creation in 2009.

Held at Northampton Park for the past three years, it provided competitions (a la the Food Network), music and a chance to try BBQ from several vendors.

The Swinery (shown in photo) not only swept the top competition awards but provided excellent food for customers. (Most competitors don’t sell because of local legalities, but many give out free samples, if you happen by after the competition judging).

The Brockport Rotary Club recruits friends, family and area residents to help with the considerable effort needed to put on such an event. Credit has to be given to new president elect Cindy Blair who co-chairs the festival committee with husband, Rob. Also dedicated were past president Doug Clare (music), new president John Egan (management), Doris Hart (PR), Wayne Whitney (ideas and contacts), and Steve Ford of the Patriot Guard.

Many local sponsors and the support of the community help in making the event successful. Over the past four years, the fundraiser has garnered over $20,000 for Wilmot Cancer Center (does not include 2013 donation which is unknown at this time.)
