With these words, Karen Watt, chairperson of the Board of Directors, ushered in the next administration of Oak Orchard Health, announcing the selection of their new President and Chief Executive Officer.
Well known to the Brockport community, Cummings has a distinguished career in health care leadership and management. An executive at Lakeside Health System since 2006, first as Vice President of Human Resources, then Senior Vice President, and finally Interim Chief Executive Officer, Cummings provided executive leadership for all aspects of strategic planning, executive and physician recruitment, compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, organizational development, volunteers, and oversight of hospital operations starting in 2011, as well as acted as CEO in the CEO’s absence.
Prior to his career at Lakeside, Cummings held a series of executive positions at Corning Hospital in Corning, over a 26 year period.
Cummings holds a bachelor of science in Business Administration from Ithaca College, and a master’s in Public Service Administration from Alfred University. Among his many professional affiliations, he is also active in the Brockport Kiwanis Club.
Oak Orchard Health extended heartfelt appreciation to Robert Q. Hendershott, EdD, who has served as Interim President and CEO since August 2012.
