Cindy Jessop was appointed to the Riga Town Council at the February 12 town board meeting. She fills the vacancy that was created when Dave Smith was elected Riga Highway Superintendant last fall.
Jessop is the Director of Community Outreach at Sunnking, an electronics recycling company in Brockport. She holds a degree in business management and has over 30 years of experience in the private sector. She has been involved with many community organizations including the Churchville-Riga Chamber of Commerce, Village of Churchville Zoning Board and Churchville Youth Association. She has been a resident of Riga for nearly 31 years along with her husband, Tim and sons, Devin and Trevor.
“I am excited about the opportunity to embark on a new adventure in the public sector,” Jessop said in a press release. “Representing the residents of the Town of Riga has been something I have considered for quite some time and I look forward to contributing to this board.”
