The annual Chili Memorial Day Parade hosted by Chili American Legion Post 1830 will be held on Monday, May 30. The parade will start at 8:30 a.m. from Grenell Drive and continue west on Chili Avenue to the Veterans Monument in front of the Chili Senior Center.
There will be a ceremony at the memorial honoring departed veterans. Many local groups will participate in the parade to show their support for this day of recognition. The rifle squad from Chili American Legion Post 1830 will present a gun salute at the Veterans Monument and will visit several town cemeteries to pay tribute to all departed veterans.
The event will also include a reading of Chili American Legion Post 1830 departed comrades at the Post at 11 p.m. Chili Post 1830 will host a community picnic in the Post Pavilion from 1 to 5 p.m.
Everyone in the community is welcome to attend all of these events. Bring the family and take a short time out of the weekend to come and support America’s fallen heroes.
