We pass by barns every day without realizing that they are engineering marvels with a long history. The Clarkson Historical Society offers a chance to learn about the structures and appreciate what makes our local barns so special. One of these is the so-called “English Barn.” Old-house enthusiast and historic building expert Chad Fabry will give a presentation on how these unique structures were designed, constructed, and used. He will also go into the history of the techniques used by the carpenters, their tools, and their materials.
The presentation will be held Wednesday, November 7 at 7 p.m. at the Clarkson Historical Society Academy building, 8343 Ridge Road, Clarkson. Free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
