Parma Public Library displays “A Passion for Paint”

The Parma Public Library is currently displaying “A Passion For Paint,” a show of work created by participants in the library’s three adult art programs: the “A Passion for Paint” program, “Make It & Take It” and “Finish It.”

All three programs are made possible through the generosity of the library’s Friends. The “A Passion for Paint” program has grown into two sessions on the third Friday of each month. The first runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the second from 2 to 5 p.m. Adults who are interested in painting may sign-up in person or by calling the library at 392-8350. No experience is needed and supplies are furnished. No registration is needed for “Make It & Take It” which occurs on the first Friday of each month at 2 p.m. Attendees are introduced to the work of a famous artist or period of art while creating a craft piece of their own. A third monthly program entitled “Finish It” has been added to the schedule. Participants may bring an in-progress art or craft project and needed supplies to the library on the fourth Thursday of the month at 1 p.m. and finish in the company of their creative cohorts. They may also choose to simply participate in one or more of the art experiments taking place, such as the current experiment with poured acrylics. Supplies are provided for all art experiments. Coloring pages are also available.

Library painters have the enjoyment of working in the company of others and the opportunity to watch their art experience grow.

The “A Passion For Paint” show will be on display through the month of February. It is the 88th in a series of exhibits hosted by the Parma Public Library, which feature area artists and photographers. For information, or to inquire about showing artwork, call Rosalind Lipomi, Adult Services Librarian, at the Parma Public Library, 392-8350.
