Hilton Village elections will be held Wednesday, March 18.  Sherry Farrell, a 50 year resident of Hilton, is seeking election as Trustee to the Hilton Village Board. There are two vacant seats, each for a four-year term. Maureen Spindler and Shannon Zabelny previously announced their candidacies.

Farrell is currently employed at Hilton-Parma Recreation & Parks and works with all populations, creating and implementing programs from pre-school youth through the adult and senior population. “My job is fun, and I enjoy going to work every day and have learned a lot about local government in the 20 years that I have been here.”  She currently serves on the Genesee Valley Recreation & Parks Society Board and has also participated on the New York State Recreation & Park Society Hospitality Committee twice recently.  Over the years, Farrell has served on or chaired many committees, including Hilton Select Basketball Board Member, Hilton Area Youth Lacrosse Co-Chair, Hilton Boys Basketball Concession Coordinator, Hilton Girls Cheerleading Bottle Return Coordinator, and a Friends of Friends Christmas Board Member. “I feel that I am always volunteering and helping out, but I do thoroughly enjoy it,” Farrell said.

Farrell considers herself to be a positive, people person who is a good listener and communicator, going above and beyond in all that she does. “I have seen many businesses and changes in Hilton in the years that I have resided here, and I want you to know that my door is always open to listen to your thoughts and ideas.” She and her husband, Bob, have two grown children, Tyler and Morgan.
