Spencerport Kiwanis welcomes new members

The Kiwanis Club of Spencerport heard an update on the Challenger Miracle Field of Greater Rochester at a recent meeting of the club. The mission of the Miracle Field is described as a place that provides people with developmental, physical, or intellectual disabilities a barrier-free, safe, accessible place to experience the health benefits and joy of play through baseball, other team sports, and adaptive recreational equipment. Pictured are Kirstyn Smith and Ron Kampff with Chuck Colby, president of the Kiwanis Club of Spencerport.   Smith, who is legally blind, is a former teacher at Mercy High School and is now the captain of the Rochester Red Wings Beep Baseball team. Kampff, a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Webster, founded the Challenger Miracle Field and is currently president of its board of directors. Sppt Kiwanis Hope Hall

The Kiwanis Club of Spencerport recently heard an update on Hope Hall, whose mission is described as a school that is committed to the belief that when students are given respect and enough time in a supportive, multi-sensory learning environment, they can become successful learners. The Kiwanis Club has been a long-time supporter of the efforts of Hope Hall.
