Sweden has change in dog control

After 34 years of dedicated service to the Town of Sweden, Kathy and Paul Beaumont have stepped down from their positions of dog control officer and deputy dog control officer. The Sweden Town Board will be making a proclamation in their honor at the August 25, Sweden Town Board meeting. Retiring Heavy Equipment Operator Colin Martin will also be honored with a proclamation that evening.

Building Inspector Lyle Stirk has assumed the additional duties of dog control officer for the town effective August 8. Residents with questions about dog control should contact Stirk at 406-3070. Building Department questions may still be addressed at 637-8684.

The Town of Sweden is busy scheduling the popular annual rabies clinic for a date in September. Residents will be informed through the usual Town of Sweden media outlets and a new Sweden Dog Control Facebook page.

“Kathy and Paul have been tremendous assets to the Town of Sweden,” said Supervisor Kevin Johnson. “Likewise Colin Martin has been an integral part of Sweden Highway operations. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”
