NY Tenors will be at Nativity Church for Celebration of Life

Pinky the Clown Foundation is sponsoring the first Celebration of Life Mass at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church on Saturday, September 12, at noon. The church is located at 152 Main Street, Brockport. The mass will be led by Father Joe McCaffrey, and Jean Martin Brooks will be the organist. The NY Tenors will also perform. All are welcome to attend, and all state health regulations will be followed.

The Pinky the Clown Foundation was formed ten years ago under the direction of its president, Leslie Daum, a SUNY Brockport alumna.

On January 10, 2020, Leslie Daum and Douglas Ensman were joined in marriage in a ceremony officiated by retired Town of Greece Judge Charlie Roger. Theirs was truly a love story. They met playing Bingo at GeorgeTown Park in Greece.

For many people, 2020 has been a challenging year. On March 15, 2020, Leslie’s first husband, Gary Rheinwald, passed away from cancer. Twelve days later, Doug was diagnosed with repeat prostate cancer. Leslie has been quoted to say, “It is a whole different dance when caring for your husband.” On September 11, Leslie and Doug will find out if 39 radiation treatments worked.

Leslie has started a prayer chain that they will celebrate on January 10, 2021, their one-year anniversary.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Those attending the mass are asked to wear a mask. Patriotic attire is encouraged as Doug is a Navy veteran.

Call Leslie at 944-6016 or email leslie-rheinwald@yahoo.com with questions or for further information.
