Ferris-Goodridge Post hosting blood drive

The blood drive held at Ferris-Goodridge Post #330 of the American Legion in July was a success, collecting 36 units of blood.  The donated blood went to help those in need at Rochester General, Strong Memorial Hospital, Albany Medical Center Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, and United Health Services Hospital in Binghamton.

The Post is holding another blood drive on Wednesday, October 28, from 1 to 6 p.m., at 691 Trimmer Road, Spencerport. Call 1-800-RED-CROSS to sign up, or register at redcrossblood.org. At this time appointments are required.

The Red Cross is also in urgent need of plasma donations from those who have recovered from COVID-19. Plasma donations need to be done at one of the following fixed locations: 825 John Street, Henrietta; 2590 West Ridge Road, Greece; 6687 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Perinton; or 50 Prince Street, Rochester.

Those who are able are encouraged to roll up their sleeves to help save a life by donating blood on October 28.
