Spencerport Canal Days organizers decide to postpone festival for 2021

Social distancing guidelines associated with COVID-19 have again impacted Spencerport Canal Days. Organizing committee members have decided to again postpone the event which they had hoped to hold July 24 and 25, 2021.

“The safety of festival visitors, our service providers, vendors, volunteers, and the community were paramount in our decision,” said Chairperson Ginny Swarthout.

The 2020 festival was also postponed due to the COVID pandemic. Arts and craft booths, specialty food items, children’s activities, music and entertainment acts, wine tasting, a Canaligator floating race on the Erie Canal, a Car Show, and community service food booths are part of the popular westside event which had marked 38 consecutive years in 2019. The committee has set the next Spencerport Canal Days event for July 30 and 31, 2022.

In the past, major sponsors of the event have included Tops Friendly Markets, Wegmans, the Town of Ogden and the Village of Spencerport, Key Bank, Westside News Inc., and M&T Bank.
