The Town of Sweden began three sidewalk extension projects in 2020 and is in the process now of finishing two of them. The sidewalks on the east side of Owens Road are nearly done. The Holley Street sidewalk project was completed in 2020 except for the Redman Road pedestrian crossing. The crossing will be done this spring. The Isla Way sidewalks were completely installed in 2020.
Sweden Supervisor Kevin Johnson has been in contact with the NYS DOT regarding filling the gap areas in sidewalks on Route 31 between Owens Road and Lake Road. A continuous loop of sidewalks from Sweden’s commercial area back to the Village of Brockport has been one of the town board’s major infrastructure goals.
