Hamlin Beach State Park holds 10th annual I Love My Park Day
The Friends of Hamlin Beach State Park (FOHBSP) and park staff welcomed 50 volunteers to the 10th annual I Love My Park Day at Hamlin Beach State Park on Saturday, May 1. Participants eagerly tackled a variety of spring clean-up projects throughout the park. With a donation from Tops Friendly Market in Hamlin, the FOHBSP were able to offer water and snacks to the volunteers whose efforts were greatly appreciated.
I Love My Park Day is the single largest volunteer event in New York State. Organized by the statewide non-profit Parks and Trails New York in partnership with the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, over 140 parks, historic sites and public lands hosted events for I Love My Park Day 2021. On this day, volunteers across the state celebrated our parks system by cleaning up park lands and beaches, removing invasive species, and working on various site improvement projects. I Love My Park Day improves and enhances New York’s outdoor spaces while bringing visibility to the entire state park system and its needs.
Hamlin Beach State Park has hosted I Love My Park Day every year since its beginning. FOHBSP is a nonprofit, charitable organization founded to support programs, services, activities and preservation at Hamlin Beach State Park.
