Spencerport UCC participates in Plastic Lakes Project

On Saturday, April 24, teens from the First Congregational Church of Spencerport UCC participated in their third annual Plastic Lakes Project on Ontario Beach. Forty people from three churches – Spencerport UCC, Fairport UCC, and Ogden Presbyterian Church – and the Fidelity Triangle youth, all joined together to collect nearly 70 pounds of trash off the sand and in the park. They enjoyed friends, food, and fun while focusing on the environment, and the weather was perfect for a walk along the shore. MacKenzie Lynk of the Plastic Lakes Project provided leadership. The Plastic Lakes Project is an offshoot of the Plastic Ocean Project, an organization dedicated to the protection of our shoreline. Check Facebook for more information on either the Spencerport UCC Church or the Plastic Lakes Project.
