Answer to neighbor concerns for the record…

We think it is important to share publicly, the actions Jeremy has taken since July 8, 2020 in order to keep his and Vanessa’s community safe. While it remains undisputed that the injured/bite victim was and is unable to identify the dog who injured/bit her (recorded testimony), in an affidavit dated August 4, 2020, Jeremy stated “…I have obtained a quote for installation of a fence at my residence. I am also willing to install a secondary physical barrier outside the perimeter of the fence and my home (i.e., an invisible fence) as a backup to the primary fence. I live on a large 10.5 acre wooded parcel. My home is set back a considerable distance from the public ROW with a driveway over 300 feet in length…….”

He further states “My understanding is that NYS law allows for other institutional controls to be implemented (i.e., restraint of the dog on leash and wearing a muzzle while in public, qualifications for her handler while in public, and maintaining appropriate liability insurance, all of which I am amenable to.”

Since August 4, 2020, Jeremy has had a 3500 square foot outbuilding erected on his property to be used by Vanessa for confined outdoor/recreational time. In addition, Jeremy has recently obtained a fence permit from the Town of Ogden and is preparing for that installation. As stated in his Affidavit, he will install a secondary barrier around the outbuilding and fenced area, if required to do so, in addition to any other requirements necessary to keep his neighbors and community safe.

This should have NEVER gotten this far. Confine her to her property, muzzled when outside and be done with it. This is a total waste of resources.
