The RPO is coming to Brockport’s Summer Serenades for a special event

Enjoy a free night with the RPO as Matthew Kraemer conducts “Summer Serenades and Dances.”

Thanks to a collaborative effort between the Village of Brockport, SUNY Brockport, and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Thursday, August 5, Summer Serenades performers are the RPO. This program is at a special time and location – 7:30 p.m., indoors in the air-conditioned Special Events Recreation Center (SERC) at SUNY Brockport (see www.brockport.edu for a campus map). Free parking is plentiful and there is a convenient drop-off loop at the main entrance. No lawn chairs are needed for this event.

No tickets are required. Families are encouraged to attend. BCSD music students in particular are invited to enjoy the experience of listening to Rochester’s premier professional musicians playing together.

The RPO performed in this space in summer 2018 – a festive, well-attended event – and the Summer Serenades organizing committee is thrilled to have them returning to Brockport. Seating is both on chairs and in bleachers, with plenty of room for the audience to spread out. Socially distanced seating areas will be designated on each side, at both floor level and bleachers, for those following social distancing recommendations.

This special Summer Serenades event is made possible with additional support by the New York State Canal Corporation, The James M. and Olive Edmunds Memorial Fund at Rochester Area Community Foundation, and by the Killian J. and Carolyn F. Schmitt Foundation.

Enjoy an evening of glorious music and an opportunity to celebrate the Summer Serenade’s tenth anniversary season. A reception with light refreshments follows the concert, allowing opportunity for everyone to socialize.
