Hilton grad named Mrs. NY American

Diana (Russo) Meyer, Hilton High School 2014 graduate, was crowed Mrs. NY American on July 18 and will represent New York in November when she competes for the Mrs. American title in Las Vegas. If she wins that competition, Meyer will compete for the Mrs. World title.

With the motto “We are Family,” the Mrs. America Pageant honors married women and their families. The pageant was revived in 1977 by David and Elaine Marmel, making it the longest standing pageant for married women in the United States. At the state pageant, contestants participate in a four-minute private interview, onstage question, and the formal wear and swimsuit competition.

Meyer has been a top fundraiser, Congressional speaker, and advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association for the past six years. At 10 years old, she founded “Unlocking Memories Through Music” in honor of her grandmother who passed from Alzheimer’s. Meyer helps seniors bring back memories by sharing her musical gifts as a flautist and donating radios to senior homes across New York State.

She is currently hosting a radio donation drive with Jazz90.1. Visit https://bit.ly/3ykIF9T for more information.
