“After the Darkroom” exhibition

“After the Darkroom” exhibition of photographs and writing by members of Studio 678 runs through August 28 in the Sunken Room Gallery at Flower City Arts Center, 713 Monroe Avenue, Rochester. Studio 678 puts a professional camera into the hands of Rochester City School District middle school students to explore their community and involves them in the entire process of creating photography – from taking the pictures to making their own black and white prints in a darkroom to matting and framing their prints for exhibition. A video presentation of student photographs set to music will be on display in the gallery alongside students’ framed work. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Free and open to the public. For information, call 271-5920, or visit flowercityarts.org/exhibitions.
